Oh Susan! you have me laughing my head off! this is too much fun! It is just like seeing/hearing myself in the video. My language however is a lot more x rated! I agree, cutting all those loops does not sound like a good idea.
With all due respect, you have made me laugh so hard. I have done the same thing, yarn too thick that it appeared as if I was knitting with marine rope. Those books should have a great big 'danger' sign when it comes to patterns like this one. As to what to use it for. I would say, a bath mit. A dish scrubber. A furniture dusting mit. Putting the loops on the inside would make very warm mittens, or socks, or hats. Would you be willing to wrestle the machine for each item? ^__^
I've had my KM less than 2 weeks. Your videos have been an eye-opener! Without you, I wouldn't know to give up and start over when the going's not so good. I had no idea how to hook up a ribber until I saw your other video on that, too. Thanks a million--please keep making videos! Ginny
Hi amoonsinger, the Brother machines aren't the same as the Knitmasters and I've never used a Brother so I really couldn't tell you if they will do pile knitting or not. I would ask at the Yahoo knitting machine group to find out for certain.
Susan Hi! You sound like all of us when we try something new.Is your machine like a Studio 321?It looks just like one I have. Is'n't great to succeed! Grace

Ummm, I just bought some punch cards for punch pile knitting on my Brother 891. I am scared to use them now. Thanks for the warning. Tina
ummm, yeah...That is exactly how I am when I am attempting to knit with my machine!

Tina, don't be scared to do the pile knitting. Once I realised that I should have been using a finer yarn it was easy.

Thanks for all your comments.
What I would like to know is if this pile knitting works on the knitmaster, will it work on a brother machine?
I have been reading some comments on yahoo groups that says it won't but aren't the knitmaster machines just the same as the brothers?
I know this might be a question that shows how much I don't know but that's ok. I admit I don't know much about machines yet.

Yes Grace, I believe both the machines are the same.
